Stick Shifts and Safety Belts

So it's kind of a long story but right now we have a different car. A stick shift. My dad always planned on teaching me how to drive a manual but by the time I was old enough to drive we only had automatics. I guess I never had an opportunity to learn. Saturday night was my opportunity. I practiced for about half an hour in an empty parking lot. Then yesterday I practiced driving around the neighborhood. Started out just going up and down our street (so what if we live on a cul-de-sac?) and eventually got the guts to drive around on other streets and finally went to the grocery store. Today I drove all the way to Target! There were stops and hills and everything! Ok, let's not get carried away. I'm not the best at it but it's only been a couple of days. I'm pretty proud of myself... if you couldn't tell. Yay for driving!

P.S. Doxey is a good teacher.
