Ups and Downs

Today started off great. First, I went visiting teaching. Then I got to pick out cute fabric for the quilt that I didn't know I was getting from the Relief Society!

Then I had my 36 (and 1/2ish) week check up:
Weight - good
Blood pressure - good
Free formula samples - good
2-3 cm dilated and about 80% effaced - good
Breech - WHAT?!

I was pretty sure she wasn't head-down, but being a first time mom I just figured I didn't know enough to know for sure. Turns out that I did. I freaked out a little. And by a little I mean that I cried when I called Doxey to tell him how the appointment went. At least I made it to the car before breaking down! He helped calm me down and we know that whatever happens will turn out for the best. I also talked to my mom a little later and she helped me feel better too.

Then I had to make some phone calls I had been putting off to our insurance and doctors and all that boring stuff no one wants to do. All of my calls went better than I thought they would. Yay for good news! Another upside is that I got another peek at our little one that I wasn't expecting. That's just starting to sink in. At the time she was up on the screen I was a little distracted by the doctor telling me my options if she doesn't turn on her own. There's still a chance she can decide to flip around - she still has some time and when he measured the fluid around her he said she has enough room to move. Keeping my fingers crossed!

So my good day turned into a really crappy day, then back into a pretty good day. I think I need to top this roller coaster off with a nice warm bath.

Good luck! Miles was the same way and I was super freaked out. Babies just like stressing out their moms. I hope she'll cooperate and flip over. There's still time.

Bleh! I so remember that roller coaster. Scott used to tell me that it was my war-mones taking over... or that I was "hormotional" and it wasn't my fault. I hope she does a few gymnastic moves in there and gets herself situated! See you on Saturday!

There is still a lot of time for her to flip. And the other options are not so bad. Lucky me nathan was faced down until right before my water broke and I had to have a c section.it was a bit overwhelming at the time. But of course everything went turmed out great. Good luck!

Hey this is Emily (parker) Crosby, I just found your blog from Steff. I can't believe you're due so soon. That's so exciting! If it makes you feel any better I worked at an OB office for 7 years and most babies do flip (you just have to hope they don't flip again back to the breech position!)

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I know that she still has time to flip the right way, it just seemed like my doctor didn't... I've been planning to go natural and then all of a sudden he was trying to schedule my c-section. It threw me off! If she doesn't turn by Monday then he'll schedule me for a turn (attempt) & induction and/or a c-section for the 26th. Crazy! I'm still holding out that she knows what to do and is just being stubborn. After all, she is my kid!
